what is the difference between The Beatles’ Revolver and Abracadabra albums?
I recently bought a Beatles album titled Abracadabra… its cover looks identical to that of Revolver and the songs sound all the same… so why the name difference? Can anyone help me? Thanks!
According to Barry Miles in his book “Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now” the title that The Beatles had for ‘Revolver’ was originally ‘Abracadabra’ until they discovered that another band had already used it.
The tracks here are, in fact, the ‘Revolver tracks(and the Paperback Writer/Rain single) with newly discovered different takes, mixes, etc.
