What would happen if you merge the Grizzles with the Thunder to become one NBA team? Could they be contenders?
The Grizzs and Thunder are rated as the two worst teams in the NBA. I’ve came up with a roster of 15 players after the merger. The two sides owners could share buying out the contract of players they don’t want and keep the ones they do. Here’s my analyzed roster for them after applying the salary cap issue:
Starter: Mike Conley, Kevin Durant, Rudy G, Chris Wilcox, Robert Swift.
Bench: Russell Westbrook, Jeff Green, Hakim Warrick, Darrell Arthur, Marc Gasol, Watson, O.J. Mayo, Joe Smith, Nick Collison, DJ White.
Could they contend for a champ. right away against teams like LA and Boston. I think this isn’t the best starting 5, but they have a superb bench. So I think that with so much talent, they will be contenders but not unbeatable.
Give them a year, OJ will be developed and Kevin Durant will be accustomed to the leauge. Watch out the only team they have to worry about is the Blazers Oden, Roy and company.
