Will Iraq turn into Americas greatest defeat?
Since the invasion of Iraq the country has been transformed from being the regions only secular country into a hotbed of extremism and terrorism. The invasion has allowed Iran to emerge as the strongest power in the region and the limitations of the US army have been exposed by the war. Support for Islamic extremism has increased among Muslims and hatred and resentment of the US has increased worldwide. Although the regime of Saddam Hussein has been removed it is likely that a worse regime will emerge after the US leaves. It appears that thousands of young Americans have died to achieve absolutely nothing and the region has in fact been made worse. Is Iraq becoming a great defeat for the US, when will the NeoCons face facts and admit that their policies are a complete load of balls?
America’s greatest defeat already happened. It happened the day that the American people ignored the facts and allowed our president to invade a country that was INVITING our inspectors in to check for W.M.D.’s.
And, if anyone thinks we are making the world safe from terrorism, you are sadly mistaken. Here’s a link to a database that tracks terrorist activity. Notice that between 2003 to the present, there have been over 11,000 incidents in the Middle East. From 1968 to 2003, there were only about 3,000. Remember the ‘Mid-East’ crisis’s of the ’70′s and ’80′s? They were nothing compared to what we have caused.
