Finding Your Hammock Stand
We loved swinging on that hammock and spent many summer days dreaming under the summer sky. These days it’s my husband and kids that get the most use out of our hammock. It wasn’t very pretty, but we loved it just the same. Because they have a tight weave, they do not ventilate well and are more suitable for cooler climates. Then you spend a half an hour or more setting everything up. You crawl inside, and kill all the bugs that got in while you were unrolling your sleeping bag. Mind you, if you’re really doing this in hammock swing style, you’d have a waiter on hand to do all that exhausting pouring yourself, leaving you to contemplate whether there could be any possible way of achieving the ultimate paradise island. In the morning, you need to wait for the dew to dry lest you get home with a sack full of mildew, and then roll, stuff, and tie everything back into your bag. As the sun sets, you leisurely cook a meal and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. In the morning, everything goes back into the stuff sack in less time than it takes to brush your teeth.
This is certainly appropriate because hammocks are used to rest and relax in. They are usually made up of cloth, or sometimes, twine or very thin ropes that are intertwined in such a pattern so as to be able to support a person. There is a hammock that is light yet very durable, made especially for trekking and nature hikes. Other than that, there are also hammocks that have stands made of steel or wood that is able to support the hammock and its user.
