All Together
Why do people group all Asians together in public ?
At stores and restaurants I’ve been asked if a group of strangers who happened to be Asians were with me.
OK We all look alike but – I get embarrassed , annoyed and angered by this. Why do people assume all Asians who don’t know each other have to be “together” ?
Is this worth getting angry about ?
I don’t. I generally can tell the differences in language and physical features to know that they are not all the same. Japanese people speak very different and look different than Chinese people, and vice versa. Vietnamese people look and speak differently then Phillipino people, and vice versa. I can generally pick up on these differences.
