Alicia Keys

Why does Alicia Keys consider herself Black and not white?
I recently saw an interview with alicia keys were she was talking about gangster rap and she says it was created by the government to kill quote(our people) our meaning black people.she constantly made Reference to her self saying qoute (as a black woman i feel like gangster rap is helping kill our people) but i hear alot of people saying she’s mixed. but if she is why does she herself say she’s black?
It started wayy back. Basicly
the american rule was if you aint white…
…YOUR BLACK. Racist huh.
Alsoo when you look at it mixed race people
have a choise with what there more comfortable
seeing themselfs as eg:
Alicia Keys refers to herself as black, well she has got black
blood runnig through her.
Leona lewis on the other hand acts like more of a caucasian person than
a black person. Her personality, accent (im brittish and i know how black brittish ppl
talk) her hair e.c.t so ya
thats their will they have each gene in them they can choses to be both or 1 (:
hope i helped and happy x-mas

Spirit $5.49 Winner of Britain’s “The X-Factor,” Leona Lewis debuts with a mix of pop and R&B. She is blessed with a vocal range that’s so versatile, in songs like “Better In Time,” that one may immediately compare her to Mariah Carey or Beyoncé Knowles, especially in “The First Time I Ever Saw You.” It’s not Lewis’s fault that her voice doesn’t distinguish her from these stars, but her producer, Simon Cowell… |

Confessions $5.25 A CD is always more compelling when you know it’s lifted from the artist’s autobiography, and that’s certainly the case with Confession, Usher’s first record since 2001′s 8701. The Atlanta singer’s string of hits over the past decade have been decidedly PG-13 rated, almost veering towards teen pop, but he’s changed all that on this co-produced offering, which he claims is “the real him.” It would … |
