I’ve been away for a while. Yesterday I could log in and check some stuff. One of the main things I noticed (and expected): my house was locked out for not paying. Ok, so it took me a while to visit vendors and vault keepers to realize that was not the place to go. The house icon was gone and the House is Locked icon does nothing so this is the solution:
Go to your Character Panel and click on the Housing tab. There is an Unlock House button. Click on it and accept the 300s to unlock it so you can start to pay unkeep again.
BTW, 300s to reopen the hous is not bad
You need to identify and equip first the weapon that has the characteristics that you want. These are completly random so it takes a while to find the one or maybe you get lucky. Equip some of them even if you use just one or two since all the equipped weapons gain experience even if they are in your inventory. But you need to equip them first.
Weapon XP gained through fighting distributes among all the weapons you have equipped. You can have up to seven (or eight, cant remember) equipped legendary weapons.
Deconstruct the ones you don’t need including other classes weapons (identify them first) to get relics.
Relics have tiers from 1 to 8. Each relic has individual stats. Once you have 5 of them of the same tier you can combine them to get more relics and relics of the next tier. You need to try to compbine a lot of them to get better tier relics. By combining you will also get gems and runes that you can use in you legendaries.
Here is a list for starters to get the most of the chat channels.
You can “talk” inchat channels by typing / (slash) plus the letter identifying the chat channel. Common chat channels included in the game by default are:
- /say (default): the general say channel for people around you
- /f (fellowship): this can be use to talk privately with your fellowship while questing
- /advice : this can be used to ask for directions, explanations about anything in-game
- /lff (looking for fellowship): use this channel to find fellowships for quests you want (check the notes below for more LFF options)
- /tell (private messages): use /tell playername to send messages directly to a player. Example: /tell otherplayername Hello! will send Hello! to the player named otherplayername.
LFF Channel
When looking for groups use something like this:
/lff LFF Quest Name Here
If yo ualready have some people in your fellowship use the following:
/lff LFM for quest name here
LFM means Looking for More and it gives the idea that you already have people with you. Some people doesn’t join fellowships (specially for tough quests) until they see you are serious about, after you have someone else to do it.
You can also use:
/lff LF2M for QuestName (looking for two more) or
/lff LF2M (1 must be a champion) if you are looking for specific classes
You can also type ‘O’ and add a LFF note in the Fellowing tab by selecting level ranges / classes / quests needed to publish globaly in your server a LFF request that will appear in every other character in that server.
GLFF
Since /LFF channels are regional, for example if you type /LFF (something here) in Angmar it will display to all characters in Angmar only.
If you want to find a fellowship server-wide and you don’t want to use the Fellowing opyion you can join the General Looking for Fellowship Channel by typing this:
/joinchannel glff
If this is your first custom channel you are joining you can access it / type in by doing this:
/1 LFM Quest Name Here
/1 is the channel number one that will be available if you used /joinchannel glff as your first custom channel. If you already used another custom channel (they will stay there every time you log in) use /2 or the number in the order you joined them
In order to get more relics you can identify weapons even if they are not compatible with your class. For example a Hunter can identify a Rune-Keeper’s Rune. Once the legendary weapons is identified you can go to a Relic Master and deconstruct the weapon for relics.
If you are leveling and you already have a legendary weapon of your choice you can slot more weapons for your class (until you hit the max legendary weapons alloed). Equip them so they bind to you and they will appear in the legendary menu. These weapons will level with you.
Why? because deconstructing level 1 weapons doesn’t give as much relics as deconstructing a higher level weapon. So you can deconstruct recently identified weapons for non-class weapons but you can get more relics by identifying, equiping and leveling your own class weapons and then deconstruct them after some levels. The more levels the weapon has the more relics / relic quality you will get.
I’ve found that some players just power level to 60 while others spend the time to do every single quests and others are just in the middle. There are a couple of things to consider:
If you just go straight to 60 by doing the epic quest line and other quests you will need to spend time in between for deeds. Deeds not only include killing x amount of beasts but it also forces you to do an x amount of quests to get deeds done and slot some traits. So basically the game is designed to do some stuff even if you want to run straight from 1 to 60.
In the other hand doing every quests is rewarding if you are the type of player that enjoys reading or completing everything. Some people gets frustrated when a lot of quests are crowding the quest log. Try to get a lot of quests in the same area since a lot of quests tend to send you to the same place. That way you can complete a couple of quests at the same time.
In both cases doing the epic quest line and some quest lines is enough to start some deeds. If you do everything or just rush to 60 you will have to do them anyway… so it is up to you. Both scenarios work.
The only big difference is to learn how to play your class solo and in groups. Since no matter how many levels you can get in one day you will be more effective and you will have a better chance if you play well.
For end game players and Ettenmoors maniacs getting deeds for traits is a must. Reaching level 60 (as it was for level 50 before the Moria expansion) offers no warranty to get a tough character. Not only the usage of skills. Character customization in the form of traits, trait sets, armor from fellowship / raids and even crafted items are the difference between players. A good player 3 levels below yours with good equipment, skills and traits can finish you easily. Learn to combine stats and learn to play better. If you go around killing boars or doing repetitive tasks use the time to see what can you do with your skills to be more effective. You will make repetitive tasks faster and easier while getting a lot of real game experience.
The camp used by the fellowship is at the High Hollin, down the last “E” of Glad Ereg in the map. Don’t forget to pick up something someone left there
I’m not sure if it happens all the time or just for my class but the other day I joined a fellowship with my level 45 Minstrel and went to Carn Dum. I got 5 pages in like an hour and a half.
The location of Lorniel’s grave is in top of the “D” in Gorothlad in the map. You will need to enter through Maethad (you can reach the area where you did the seven blades quest and go north from there).
In order to change your status from Annonymous to Public (or the reverse way) you need to log in at http://ny.lotro.com and click in the “My Admin” link in the top right part of the site. That will lead you to the Wordpress (yes, it is powered by the mighty Wordpress) admin page. There you have the option “Characters” on the menu where you can select which of your characters to show as Annonymous or Public.
Annonymous was set by defult since the last patch.
I was having problems to see the videos inside LOTRO for God knows what reason. So I’ve found a way to play them in Windows.
You need to download the Bink video player (that plays .bik files) and you are set. Then find the files (usually in Program Files> Turbine > The Lord of the Rings Online > Raw > en. You will find the different videos sorted by folders (like vignette, class videos, etc.
Just remember that outside the game all the videos are unlocked so you may see some spoilers!
To play the files simply right click and choose Open with and then click on Rad Video Tools. Double clicking will open the Lotro Client.
I would recommend one of these two professions for rune-keepers:
Explorer (for money) so you can collect wood, ore and do some tailoring. Wood, Ore and boiling hides (forester) are good money-makers in the AH. This was the same in Shadows of Angmar. Same in Moria.
Tinker: specially for the Jeweller part since you can do you own runes. And you getthe plus of cooking food (though I prefer to buy it and not waste time on getting ingredients and cooking). The other good plus is you can create your own jewellery at all levels. These are a good sell on the AH too.
My suggestion to all Wardens is to focus on Might, Fate and Agility. then vitality and Will since morale will not be important. With fate Might and Agility we are making sure we get good parry, evade and block and more damage. Power can be managed using the Stance.
The secret here is to tank Mordrambor all the time. Stay behind Narmeleth and to the right (to avoid falling into lava).
Listen to what they say (both Narmeleth and Mordrambor). Specially “Mordy” he will call for debufs calling the name of the player. When this happens the player needs to run to Narmeleth for her to apply a debuf on you. This debuf will not only reduce your chances to get hit but it will also add a 150% damage reflection. When you get this debuf go to Mordrambor and let him take some of his own stuff.
Two minstrels is recommended and the rest of the team shoulb be taking are of adds to avoid Narmeleth to be killed.
